Week 5 Practical - Project 2A: Exercise 1 (Photo Manipulation)  Portfolio: Digital Imaging Exercise 01                                                                                                                         Part 1: Shazam This week, I complete Practical 5 as instructed by the tutorial video. Using the quick selection tool, layer mask, filters, and colour correction to finish the tasks. Firstly, I use the quick selection tool to subtract background. To crop out Shazam with more nuanced, I use the Command + ‘+/-‘to zoom in and zoom out while also adjusting the brush size to make it more consistent. After that, add ...

WEEK 4 PRACTICAL - ADJUSTMENT LAYERS & FILTERS

Week 4 Practical - Adjustment Layers & Filters Reflection: This week, I learned how to modify layers and filters to produce a more unified and aesthetically pleasing final result. Before performing any modifications, the layer must first be merged, converted to a smart object, and given a clipping mask in order to prevent an adjustment mess on the image. Following that, I made an effort to tweak each component, including hue, saturation, colour balance, brightness, etc. In order to achieve a balance with the tone of the element, I also changed the background's colour. Overall, the steps improve the overall aesthetics of the picture. Below are the before and after of my work: BEFORE AFTER

WEEK 3 PRACTICAL - DIGITAL COLLAGE

Image
Week 3 Practical - Collage Design (Digital) Reflection: This week, I've been practicing using the pen tool to crop out specific portions of the image. Draw around the element using the pen tool first, then click on the command while clicking at the layer, copy the image, and paste it. In order to obtain the specific element I desire. Additionally, I can skip some laborious stages by utilizing the magic wand tool to crop off the components with a white backdrop instead of a pen tool. At the same time, I discovered how to change the image's angle. Use command+T, for instance, to change the angle. It may also use right-clicking to choose other options, such as horizontal/vertical flip or 90-degree flip, which helps.   Below are the compositions of my digital collage: Composition #1 Composition #2 Composition #3 After I submitted these compositions, I get feedback from sir, and he suggests me to take composition #3 as my best composition for the next practical exercise.

WEEK 2 PRACTICAL - COLLAGE DESIGN

Image
Week 2 Practical - Collage Design Reflection: To create this collage design, at first, I tried to find out some gathered materials and collect a variety of materials such as magazines, photographs, and other printed materials. I use scissors to cut out the elements that I want to use in my collage. After that, I started to plan my composition by determining the layout and composition of my collage. I tried to sketch out my ideas and experiment with arranging my materials on a surface until I find a design I like. After I submitted my pre-composition for feedback, I get the suggestion from sir to choose the first pre-composition as my final composition. Therefore, I use glue stick adhesive to attach my elements to an A4 blank paper surface.  Below are the pre-compositions of my physical collage design: Pre-Composition #1 (FINAL COMPOSITION) Pre-Composition #2  Pre-Composition #3 In this week, I have learned to create a physical collage, which is a hands-on process that allows m...
